Position Overview

As the Maintenance Coordinator at House of Hope, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our facilities, grounds, and buildings are well-maintained, safe, and welcoming for our residents, staff, and guests. This position requires a hands-on, proactive individual with experience in facility maintenance, landscaping, and repairs. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the upkeep of our property while embodying the mission and values of House of Hope.

Key Responsibilities

Building Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance issues before they become major problems.
  • Oversee and complete minor renovations, painting, and general upkeep of residential and common areas.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and large-scale maintenance projects.

Groundskeeping & Landscaping

  • Maintain the House of Hope property, including mowing, trimming, edging, and overall lawn care.
  • Ensure walkways, parking areas, and common outdoor spaces are clean, well-kept, and free from hazards.
  • Oversee seasonal landscaping needs, including planting, mulching, and irrigation system maintenance.
  • Monitor and maintain outdoor recreational areas and structures to ensure safety and usability.

General Maintenance & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure all maintenance work aligns with safety standards and building codes.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies needed for ongoing maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents to provide a safe and functional living environment.
  • Assist with emergency repairs and be on-call for urgent maintenance issues when needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in general maintenance, facility management, or a related field.
  • Have knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair work.
  • Experience with lawn care and landscaping equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of House of Hope.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with staff and residents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in maintenance-related fields is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends for urgent maintenance needs.
