Job Description:

Thirst is an exciting contemporary non-denominational church that was planted in November of 2018. Our mission is to demonstrate and share the life-changing good news of Jesus Christ. On a Sunday morning our average attendance is 350 people. God has blessed us with a permanent space that was completed in 2021 and that includes a full service coffee shop open to the public 7 days a week.

The Worship and Technical Director will be responsible for planning the Sunday morning worship service and creating an inviting and Spirit filled experience through contemporary music. The director will also manage audio and video needs for the church including: media, online streaming, and support staff. The person for this position will need to have strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with both the worship team and congregational members. 

 

Worship and Technical Responsibilities:

  • Lead weekly worship service(s) in conjunction with other band members using a variety of Christian music
  • Participate in weekly Service Planning meeting
  • Schedule worship team for Sunday services and special events
  • Lead rehearsals, create set lists in conjunction with the Service Planning Team, and enter all information in Planning Center Services
  • Coach the worship team both musically and spiritually
  • Develop connections with worship team members and look for opportunities to grow team
  • Create standard operating procedures and documentation for Worship Team 
  • Manage sound and technical lead
  • Identify ongoing educational and training opportunities related to Biblical studies, leadership, music ministry and technical advancements for personal growth and staff development
  • Interact and connect with congregation after services to build community
  • Assist Lead Pastor in areas of opportunity for church growth

 

Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of the Gospel and how God’s Word empowers and transforms the lives of individuals and families
  • Strong musical skills both instrumentally and vocally
  • Experience overseeing front of house and online soundboards
  • Ability to create and edit videos for church or ministry needs
  • Working knowledge of ProPresenter and Planning Center Services
  • Strong leadership and relational skills to develop and nurture e?ective relationships with congregants, team members, and volunteers
  • Organized and efficient with time management during both primary office hours and offsite
  • Flexibility to work interdepartmentally to assure church ministries and events are well supported
  • Bachelor’s degree in music preferred, not required.
