Position Title: Student Ministry Pastor
Reports to: Executive Pastor
Supervises: Middle School Director (Part-time)
Employment Status: Full-Time
General Description:
The Student Ministry Pastor (SMP) is a dynamic, full-time position requiring a commitment of 40+ hours per week. Reporting directly to the Executive Pastor, the SMP collaborates closely with the Middle School Director to shape and lead the ministry for 6th-12th grade students at New Community. The primary focus of this position is to lead our students into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by creatively designing environments that encourage and equip them to Love God, Make Friends, and Change the World.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and articulate the vision for the student ministry, strategically plan events, and oversee program implementation.
- Lead the Sunday evening youth group and deliver sermons for the senior high youth gatherings.
- Organize and execute impactful events, including missions, service projects, camps, retreats, and outreach activities.
- Facilitate regular communication and collaboration with the core team and volunteers, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
- Engage with students and volunteers through outreach efforts, offering pastoral care, and fostering community.
- Maintain active involvement in social media platforms to effectively connect with students and parents.
- Participate in staff meetings, contributing insights and support to church-wide initiatives when scheduling allows.

- Committed follower of Jesus Christ, demonstrating a passion for disciple-making and student ministry.
- Proven leadership abilities with a focus on goal setting, team development, and volunteer management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, adept at relating to individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
- Ability to navigate and resolve conflicts with grace and wisdom.
- Proficiency in organizational and administrative tasks.
- Understanding of contemporary student culture and ability to apply Biblical principles with relevance and compassion.
- Effective communicator capable of articulating vision to parents and equipping them for discipleship.
- Embraces unity, humility, and confidentiality in team dynamics.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in student ministry, biblical studies, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience and training will be considered.
- Demonstrated experience in building and leading successful ministry teams.
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000, commensurate with experience (BOE)
- Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, paid time off, and retirement contributions.
